I watched the Cardinals on Monday night and without a quarterback that can scramble, the Niners had a great game plan. Dropping 7 and 2 deep was perfect and worked in coverage. That will not work for them with the Eagles. I hope they try it because McNabb will run 15 yards for the first. Every game now is crucial to the play-off run. The Eagles should want to win out for a easier run. They can do it and I can tell you why.
The Eagles are still learning how to use Vick and it keeps getting better. The Vick plays are exactly what we wanted when we signed him and now it is working. The pass play has messed up the defenses and as we speak the Niners are in film wonder what the ____ to do with the game plan. I think Marty will use him enough to get the offense going before there is any signs of a problem, this is key. We must use Vick when it is NOT neccessary to ensure successfull usage of his abilities. Keep the pressure off him for big gains.
Another key is the offense is still growing. This means we must stay balanced in the run and pass to keep Willis guessing. This line backer is a great athlete and is coached by the best. We must stay even to keep him tired and guessing for victory. Look for Weaver to pound the defense and Mccoy for some great success but Mccoy better keep the rock high and tight. I hope to see Westbrook but limited becuase you will see, he will be the difference in the play-offs, mark my words.
Finally it is time for the defense to gell with everyone back to their positions. Jordan back and Hanson must get the coverages back in set. I think when guys miss time, they get a bit confused in coverage. Hanson played great but with the two of them back I saw break downs in zone coverage and I also saw break down in the goal line coverage. Hanson was great when playing man. This will be fixed this week and I can see the Eagles shut down the Niners because Sean must be mad with the plays last week.
We will see the action this week and let me know your thoughts from fan to fan.

Consistance, Winning In December
This is why Andy Reid is great. Training camp is seen as punishment or hot and painfull days but it has meaning to some. Ask Andy why he has one of the hardest training camps in the Nfl. Take a look at the Cowboys and their "Hard Knocks". They have a training camp opposite to the Eagles. They do not have full contact and do they really pad up? Sheldon Brown said last week, "It is because of our training camp we are prepared for December football." And I agree with that. December is the time when your body is ready for more or you are not conditioned enough for the time of the year. Look at the records for proof. How are you feeling, Cowboys? Andy discilplines his team for a hard season and works them for preperation of the real "Hard Knocks" and creates and ready team for December

Eagles Vrs Giants
This is it. The game of the year for the Eagles except the Dallas game at the end. This is a proving game. Who wants it more. I am concerned because the Eagles get into must wins and they fail their fans often but lets be optimistic. The Eagles better have the A game this Sunday and everyone should be excited. The signing of Reid is a great thing and now he needs to prove to all the fans why the Eagles extended his contract. The proof is in the pudding, right? I cannot wait for this game and the Eagles defense is the key to this game.
The Eagles played great defense last week and regained some confidence. Atlanta was beat up but still our beat up defense out played them and it started with Macho Harris. Yes, you heard me right Macho. Why? because he played Tony one-on-one and won the battle. Macho was jamming TG at the line and played him aggressive. I was watching it closely all game. I was very impressed with that game and Sean should keep Macho playing all tight ends this way the rest of the year and we WILL WIN OUT THE SEASON.
Second key is the line on both sides of the ball. I know everyone think this is key to the whole game but trust me take out the tight end with Macho and let our corners play man and we will win. The line needs to beat Giants on both sides. We can shut out the run and be careful about the double move and we will be great.
Tell me your thoughts. If you read my Vick game blog last week you can see I was exact with my thoughts. I want yours...

Is This The Week For Vick?
I hope so... We need Vick to get out more and let it rip. We need a good trade for him. We are at cap limit, 500,000 under and we need more of our players to stay. With that said I see our defense shut out Atlanta and Vick plays the rest of the fourth quarter. What say you?

The Run Game
Reporters sit at a table and talk about the Eagles run game all the time. It is like the traffic at 5pm, it is always there and annoying. None of these reporters think it is a problem the Eagles abandon it all the time. So let me tell you why all the reporters are wrong and they are not looking at the big picture. The run game does many things, even if you do not get 1 yard out of the play.
First, the run game helps, let me repeat helps the offense line with pass protection. Yes, pass protection because all game long the defenders already know what play is coming and they do not have to warrent any run defense so they just tee off on the offense. If the offense has a running game, wether it works or not, the line has that ability to fake a run block and give them the edge in the trenches. It also helps the line to feel good about working together because all of them just have to push the defender back instead of back pedalling the hole game.
The run game helps the quarter back. Do you think the quarter back should throw the ball 50 times every game. How many throws does a pitcher throw? The quarter back has to get tired by the end of the game. Also the play action-pass helps fake out defenders when you have short yardage plays. The defense has to respect the run game if the team sticks with it.
Even when you get 1 or 2 yards, it does not matter. The defense will tire eventually and the Eagles have the largest line in the NFL so eventually you will get some defenders breathing heavy and you can start to open things up down the feild.
This brings the final note to the run game. It controls the game. It controls the time of possession. And it controls the amount of time your defense gets to rest. I know the defense failed to stop the Chargers and the Cowgirls but our defense cannot rely on our offense to slow the game down and run the clock down for that nice long rest on the sidlelines to get pumped up and come out fresh to stop the opposing offense. Don't forget that if you can sustain a drive and keep the opposing offense on the side lines then it is harder for them to get moving. The run game is crucial and the reporters need to look at it from the big picture not just the stats.

Eagle's Play
What in the world? What do they do now? Where do they go from here? I do believe the Eagles do not read my blogs, that's for sure. Do they know what the I formation is? And will they ever line up and run they ball no matter how many yards they got on the first try? I am tired of this play. I know champion teams know how to tire out a defense and rest their own. How can our defense take a break when we do not control the game clock or they game period. The game needs to be won by control. All the teams that beat the Eagles control the game. They dictate to us what play to call. And why can't Mcnabb audible the formation once in awhile? Have you ever seen this? Donovan is smart and needs to control the offense more. Yes he can pass the ball and no one should doubt it. Even when the defense knows it is coming but to win games you need to give him a break and just give the ball to a back. This is killing the fans and this team is full of young and very talented players all around. The line did a great job with fill-ins and the receivers played their hearts out but the coaches seem to fail again to control the game. The defense is beat up so you need to find ways to keep the offense on the feld and do not forget the scoring part.
